HIROSHIMA, Japan—Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes as follows, effective May 1, 2007.

1. Organizational Changes
(1) China business changes

Goals

-	Eliminate the China Vehicle Plant Launch Office and the China Powertrain Plant Launch Office because the Nanjing engine and vehicle manufacturing plants have reached the final stages of construction.

Details

-	The China Vehicle Plant Launch Office and China Powertrain Plant Launch Office have been eliminated.

(2) R&D changes

Goals

-	Consolidate the R&D resource management functions to enable more efficient management of resources.
-	Integrate the planning and control functions for the R&D equipment and data systems to enable more efficient use of equipment.

Details

-	Functions of the R&D Administration Innovation Dept. have been transferred to the Program Control & Administration Dept., the MDI & MPDS Planning & Development Dept. and the R&D Technical Administration Div.
-	In line with the organizational changes stated above, the R&D Administration Innovation Dept. has been eliminated.

(3) Program management changes

Goals

-	Integrate the work of four program offices in the program management area into three Program Management Offices to enhance internal coordination and improve business efficiency.

Details

-	Functions of Program Management Office No.4 have been transferred to Program Management Office No.1, Program Management Office No.2 and Program Management Office No.3.
-	In line with the organizational changes stated above, Program Management Office No.4 has been eliminated.
